Wheeling Childrens Museum-directly across the street from the hotel
On the corner of 10th and Main Street in Wheeling, there is a small, but spirited place for kids. You will see children interacting with parents, grandparents, and each other. The heart of the site is probably the most famous and certainly the largest of the Adena Burial mounds. A massive undertaking, the total effort required the movement of more than 60,000 tons of earth. Artifacts and exhibits interpreting the lifestyle of the Adena people are displayed in the Delf Norona Museum, adjacent to the 2,000 year old mound.

Oglebay Park-The Good Zoo and Benedum Planetarium

We're just a short drive away from Oglebay Park, see 80 species of animals nestled in 30 acres of woodlands. The zoo also features a 1-1/2 mile train ride by the ostrich exhibit, plus bald eagles, cranes and turtles in the Wetlands exhibit. Rare and endangered species include an ocelot, red wolves, tamarin monkeys and red pandas. Visitors can pet domestic animals at the barn and enjoy hands-on activities in the Discovery Lab. The Benedum Planetarium presents laser and multimedia shows. Also see the state's largest 0-gauge model train display.
